How to Start a Self-Touch Practice (Even If You Feel Awkward)

When most people hear the term “self-touch,” they think sex, right?

But here’s the truth…self-touch is so much more than sexual. It’s one of the simplest, most powerful ways to deepen your self-worth.

We spend so much of our lives in our bodies…but not with them.

We rush through showers. We lotion up in 10 seconds. We only really notice our bodies when something hurts or when we’re judging how we look.

For years, I moved through life like this—treating my body like an afterthought unless I needed her to “look good” for an event, a photoshoot, or a man.

But now? Self-touch is one of my most sacred practices. When I take time to consciously touch my own skin—my arms, my belly, my face—slowly, with presence—I’m actually signaling to my nervous system:

“You are safe here.”

And that safety is the foundation of both sensual confidence and self-worth. It’s not about finding “flaws” to fix. It’s about letting your body know she is worthy of care and attention right now.

I want you to try this today:

  1. Take 3–5 minutes in the morning or evening.
  2. Place your hands on your body like you would someone you deeply love.
  3. Notice temperature, texture, curves, and shapes—without judgment.
  4. Take slow breaths and stay present with the sensations.
  5. End with a statement like, “I am safe in my body,” or “I cherish this body as she is.”

Do this daily, and watch what shifts.

If you want to start your mornings feeling connected, grounded, and sexy in your skin, but not sure how to go about it, I got you babe!

I created a free Sensual Morning Stretch video to guide you through this exact type of self-connection.

It’s gentle. It’s grounding. And 8 minutes that will completely shift your energy for the day.
