Ever wonder why you might not feel confident in yourself? It coooouuuld be that you don’t know who you are. Trust is the foundation of confidence. (Confidence comes from the latin word fidere which literally means to trust boo!). So in effect, confidence comes from trusting in yourself. But you can’t trust in someone you don’t know. After all, would you put all your trust in a total stranger?! Probably not.
So if you don’t know yourself, it’s no wonder you don’t feel confident! It’s possible that you’re living a version of yourself that society has told you, you should be; instead of becoming the person you were meant to be. It’s time to let go of societal expectations!
Take a step back and ask yourself, “What do I want? What are my likes and dislikes? What do I stand for? What are my values?” Can you answer those questions without attaching yourself to someone else or to a title? (It’s crazy how much we identify who we are by who we are to other people.)
Once you can answer these questions, you start to reclaim ownership of your life. And THAT is a powerful feeling! An inner-knowing that will make you feel confident AF!
